Information Wants to Be Free . . . Again By Terry Calhoun
This article was very interesting, with a sort of philosophical discussion of information sharing a few writers' views over the last couple decades. Are we attempting to fill up a sinking boat by saving everything? Do we as human beings have limited bandwidth? The example of how we tune out individuals in favor of staring at the metal when on a crowded elevator was interesting. And the two definitions of free (low cost versus unrestrained). I had to laugh about his renditions of the sense of smell story, especially since the lilacs have been in bloom all week. Is that really true about how our olfactory sense system works?
