The mail system

Thanks to Internet Scout for pointing out this exhibit that shows technology driving mail delivery.   Of special interest may be 1988, which showed how optical character recognition changes made a difference.   It is fun to see the sheer volume, and handling.  There is a nine minute video that is very good, in addition to the pictures for the various year exhibits.   Networks, databases, and systems in action...You can see refernces to some of the internal controls in place...this might make for an interesting case discussion to see how many AIS concepts students observe in watching this.   http://www.postalmuseum.si.edu/systemsatwork/index.html
